Hi all, I had all these aspirations of making a big update at the end of May that files were finalized and the BackerKit is launched, and here is a print and play version. HOWEVER, none of that happened in time and here we are two weeks later and it's still not actually done. So here is a quick update...
Bad News
How the fuck do you draw a semi-sleepy stick figure? I can tell you dozens of ways NOT to...
We're delayed. I'm slower and more particular at drawing than I wish I was. In addition, there are a lot of manufacturing and logistics things that have been cascading down over the last year that are absolutely having an impact. My original printer of choice is now extra delayed and there is also a significant price increase. It's not enough money that we won't be fine (I can't emphasize that enough, we're super fine), but an extra grand is a meaningful proportion of the total we raised here, so it does mean that I started checking with other manufacturers to see if we can do better.
Good News
Maybe my favorite thing I've ever drawn? RIP to one of the all time greats.
Other than being slow, everything is going as planned and coming together nicely. Turns out I really get in my head about what SORT of shitty I want everything to be so I'm drawing dozens of options before I finalize the card art. (Literally hundreds at this point, I'll have to take a photo of the final pile when I'm done.) I have just a few left I'm still not 100% happy with, but everything except dropping in the line art on those few cards is done.
I'll be posting a print and play soon as well.
Medium News
Being late means I had time to do this, but it also means that this absolute clown exists in our social discourse now...
It's slow, but it's happening. BackerKit is almost ready to go, files are a few final pieces of art from done, I'm working through manufacturing options but worst case we just stick to the original plan and that's fine.

There is a clear and easy path forward that we're cruising along, I'm just not moving as quick as I'd like and I'm terribly sorry about it.

Hey all, just wanted to check in since it's been a minute and say that things are still moving along as reasonably planned. But we're also not ahead of schedule. Turns out that drawing is hard and while I wouldn't say I regret it at all, it's tough to draw so much when it isn't something I otherwise ever spend much time doing! But then I remember that this is a "problem" because so many of you wanted to support this weird little thing and I'm just so thankful and humbled by it all. You're all the best!

In other news, we teamed up with our friends at Lay Waste Games to do a fancy version of Heads Will Roll which just hit Kickstarter. It's personally the game of mine I've played the most of (and still do) and doing an updated and improved version has long been the plan. They're doing all the serious publisher stuff but I'm helping with a bunch of odds and ends so killjoy is officially co-publishing it.

Hey everyone, hopefully you've had a reasonably chill holiday and while 2021 got off to quite the wild start, it's been a pretty alright last few days. I don't have a ton to share but wanted to let everyone know we're still trucking along as expected.
